I got lucky
I visited this place exactly once, in the fall of 1983 on a road trip I took after a conference in New Orleans. Something must have stuck in the back of my mind. That's got to be the luckiest guess I've ever made. I've been to Stonington exactly once, in 1976, while assigned to an exploration crew looking for metallic mineral deposits along the Maine coast. We were bunking on Little Deer Isle and went up to Stonington one night for supper.
Holy Smoke. Wish I'd have bought a lottery ticket today.
