  1. Default Advice for a 3 mnth Rd Trip!

I will be 20 in the winter of 09'. My school is on trimesters and I will be taking a trimester off from school starting December 15. I will be staying in PA for the Christmas, and then I am off! For the next three months my boyfriend(25) and I will live in the car, hotels, friends and family.

I wanna see the best things this country has to offer. Wacky, amazing, beautiful, breath taking, and memorable.

Please give me any advice you can think off. Places to stop and not to stop at. Places to eat, things to experience.

Oh one more thing, we will be leaving from PA by Lake Erie. we plan on going to any state, and can't wait to get to the west cost!

    Thank you :)

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

With a trip that's only 'limited' by three months and the contiguous 48 states, there's simply no way to narrow down the list of possibilities to anything like what would fit in a single post. At this point in your planning, it's going to have to be up to you and your boyfriend to come up with a basic list of the major places you'd like to visit, things you'd like to see, roads you's like to drive. It might help to put your trip in some sort of framework by at least first deciding on some overall goals and styles. Then read through some of the thousands of discussions of other RoadTrips on these pages and see which might appeal to you. That's not quite as daunting a task as you might think. You can use the 'Search' button on the second green toolbar at the top of this page to find ideas for routes to and other attractions near major sites like Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, the coasts, and the like. And then once you find something on an area that appeals to you, follow the links to 'Similar Threads' at the bottom of each discussion.

You need to keep in mind that many attractions in the northern areas are essentially shut down or inaccessible in the winter. Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon north rim are examples.
