NH - Oregon Trip insurance?

I'm going to be driving from NH - Oregon in April as part of a move to the west coast. My things are being shipped separately, but I will have a lot of my more breakable things, like electronics in my car on the road trip.

Does anyone know of a way to insure the things in my car against theft?

A renters or home owner's policy is the first thing that comes to mind, but I'll be between residences and so won't be covered. My auto insurance covers the car itself, and me but not anything I would be carrying. Would any form of travel insurance cover it?

Any help would be much appreciated!

I don't believe I know of any travel insurance that would cover that sort of thing. I'd think the easiest thing to do would extend your renters/homeowners insurance from your old place until the date you arrive at your new place, or start your new policy early.

Otherwise, I'd talk to your insurance agent and see what options they might have available. Those people are paid to know exactly how to handle different situation so that will be the easiest way to find the answers that you are looking for.
