Impressive ride, nice pics ; My 61st b'day trip I only managed 6,001 miles in 17 days, longest day was 632 miles, averaged about 580/day; 4 days spent with a friend in Idaho, only about 125 miles each day. Also solo and on an 06 Victory 8 Ball, see pics in howln post.

I've had quite a few people ask me how many riders have done the 48-10 ride.
I was curious about this also and I finally found the list.
Since 1989, 47 people have been certified by the IBA for the 48-10.
Two of the 47 rode with a passenger. Now that's crazy!!
One amazing ride was in 2005 a woman did the 48-10 while riding a Ducati Monster.
I had a Ducati Monster and I can't imagine riding even one 800 mile day on that bike.....amazing!

    Default It's official.....

I received my certification and pin from the Iron Butt Association for the 48 states in less than 10 days ride.

This is also the first time this ride has been done on a Victory. Cool!

    Default Wow!

I can't wait to do something very similar to this. Only difference is that I will be taking a bit more time and doing some more sight seeing!

Wow, that's a hell of a trip. I cant imagine doing something like that, driving so much for so long, that the scenery becomes a blur. And yet. . . somehow I find myself thinking "yeah, that might be kind of fun!"

Probably not this year, I've got my agenda for the three big road trips pretty much outlined - but perhaps 2010. Who knows. . . .

    Tony, that's how it starts.
I remember reading about another person that had done the same ride and I did think he was crazy.
And then I started to wonder if I could do it. And then the planning started. That's really how it begains.
If you do decide to try the ride and need any info just let me know.
(It was fun. I'm thinking of trying it again next year.)

    Default Again?

    Iron Butt Redux?

Would you be the only repeat offender?

Judy, I don't think so. There are some Iron Butt riders that have done an amazing number of rides.
There is a member that has rode a million miles on one bike. He also rode 31,000 miles in 31 days and he also rode over 100,000 miles in ONE year!!!

The ride that I am hoping to try next year is the 48 Plus. The lower 48 states plus Alaska. The 48 Plus also needs the be completed in less than 10 days.
I already made the map and made some changes to the bike. I'm ready but I can't do the ride until I have time and $$$. I can't wait to try! :)
I do have some shorter rides planned for this year.
