    Thanks Sweetie :)

I almost missed seeing that sight in Vegas.
I was leaving northern Vegas when I realized that I forgot to put my earplugs in,
(I wear earplugs on longer rides because the noise from the bike and the wind is just to much)
I stopped and when I was ready to go I turned to see if there were any cars coming.
When I turned I saw Vegas lit up at night. I almost missed it.

Default Yes, you must have an Iron Butt

    Wow!

And I believe you devised one of the shortest routes for touching into all the Lower 48, too.

I see you went through Riggins, ID. That drive from Boise, through Riggins, into Clarkston, WA, is one of my favorite drives. Beautiful. I did that on my own epic day when I went from Green River, UT, to Spokane, WA, just over 900 miles. But I was in a car with really comfy seats.

    Congrats and thanks for sharing!

And cool on the moose sighting!

    Thanks Judy!!
The ride through Idaho was my favorite part of this trip. This was my first trip
to Idaho and I agree, beautiful. I am hoping to go back to the northwest next year.

Default Rollin, You gotta read this book "Against the Clock"

    Hi Rollin,
Being with the Iron Butt Association you may already know of this book. But if not pickup "Against The Clock" by Ron Ayers. It's the story of his 49 state in 7 days motorcycle ride in 1998. Mark you may want to add it to the reading list on the site. It was a key piece of our 50 state in 8 days trip. Congratulations on a great accomplishment and terrific report.

    Thanks Gary!
The book does sound interesting. I am planning another IBA ride for next year.
This ride will be much shorter. A one day 1000 plus mile ride just for fun with a
    couple of other riders.
I enjoy planning the rides. Helps me make it through the long Wisconsin winters.

    Default Phew!

Man o Man. Your butt should have hurt. 800+ miles every single day for 9 days!
I am sure you have a lot more tales to tell. Rain or shine, rise & shine, eh?
    Kudos to you, seriously.

    cool

    Thank you!
I think I had everything but snow on this trip. This was the third long road trip
that I have done on this bike. I have a lot of great memories!

A little more info on IBA rides. After the ride I put all of my receipts in orderby time and made a copy of them. I also made an Excel spread sheet showingevery stop for every day. Each entry had to show when and where for everyminute of the day for 10 days. I needed at least one receipt for all 48 states. My first gas receipt was my start time and my last receipt was my end time.I also had to make a map showing my route. I sent all of this info, plus my witness forms and all the pictures that I took to the Iron Butt Association. They verify the information and if everything looks good, the ride is cerified. This process takes months. They check all of the receipts, contact witnessesand check the route to verify that the ride really was done.I'm still waiting. This ride will take a while to verify, I had a lot of receipts.
