Thread: Storage ideas

I came across Bin Buddies in Seattle at a weekly market we have here. After years of ziploc bags, I invested some of the pension in a couple of Bin Buddies and it was money well spent. Pockets for all the little stuff and then lots of room for the big stuff as well. One for my kitchen stuff and one for personal stuff. The lid snaps on just fine and I now need one fewer bin in the car. No need to do anything except take the bins out of the car and put them somewhere handy--everything's in reach when I take the lid off. I think I successfully attached a pic of one of my bins.
Those Bin Buddies are the coolest thing I've seen lately! I cannot abide clutter on a trip (though it doesn't seem to bother me at home), and this is just what I need -- I'm off to ebay! I assume they come in a variety of sizes? I should get new tubs to fit my new car before I actually buy this item.

  2. Default Bin Buddies

They are a local Seattle company and sell them mostly around the area. You can buy them at www.bin-buddies.com or call them at 888-738-3299. Call them or email them and they are happy to help you with sizing, etc. They make ones to fit every Roughneck tub except the 31-gallon size. They are very nice and helpful. I plan to buy more next time I am at the Sunday market.

  3. Default Plastic storage containers

I use some red & white plastic storage containers I picked up at either Home Depot or Lowes (can't remember...). They stack when not in use, are pretty durable, cheap ($~ 5/ each), and tile the back of the SUV when on a road trip. I always have one in the back loaded with my "Car stuff". On a road trip, I load up one with dry food, and another with cooking/ camping supplies, etc, and anything else I need. They tile really well into the back of the vehicle, and you can actually lay in a complete layer of these if needed, and then put things like duffel bags, and etc on top -- or tile in another layer if needed. They're semi-transparent, so its easy to see what's inside.

Interesting that this thread is still alive :).

Thanks Larrison. Here are a bunch of containers I found on Lowes site. Yours look anything like this? Thanks.

  5. Default More like this..

Hmm.. this is about the closest I can find quickly.

It's just a simple storage box, but in the back of my car they fit very well, and pretty much tile across the back.
