  1. Default NYC - Miami february 2009

    Hi.

I'm going around the world with a friend this fall, and we are planning a roadtrip from NYC to Miami at the end of our trip.

We are into clubs, concerts, beaches, amusement parks and nature.

Is there anyone ho can help with a suggestion to a route and what to see on the way down?

We are from Copenhagen, Denmark, so we don't have so must knowledge about anything going on over there:)

We have got three weeks in february to the roadtrip.

    -Martin N.G.

    Default Welcome!

Welcome to the RoadTrip America Forum!

The most direct route would be I-95, which you can find an excellent resource for at this link.

To view nature and wildlife, you can head over to the Everglades in Florida. Expect the weather North of, say, North Carolina to be quite a bit cooler at that time of year. Any beaches that you are going to want to spend any time at in February would be limited to those in the Southern states - such as Florida or the other states along the Gulf of Mexico. For the most part, the same would apply for amusement parks.

Now, New York City to Miami is only a two day drive, so that gives you an exceptional amount of time to explore.
Are you planning on just checking out what is on the direct route from NYC to Miami, or are you open to suggestions that may be outside of the linear path?

    Thanks alot!

Yeah, i thought it wouldn't take that long, so where open on going further into the country and maybe seeing new orleans or chicago. I've also been thinking about going to a 'six flags' amusement park are they open that time of year?

By the way - we are 21 and 19 years old, just so you have that in mind:)

If it were me, I'd head to New Orleans (if it were Summer, my answer would be different).

We have a Six Flags near here, and it is closed at that time of the year. I just checked the website, and there is also a Six Flags in Atlanta, GA - closed in February.

As for being 21 and 19 years old, take note that most clubs will only allow 21-and-older.

    Default bars/clubs/taverns

Bars and Clubs are generally the same thing in the US. The drinking age in the US is 21, and thus the age to enter establishments where alcohol is served is also 21. There are some 18+ non-alcohol clubs out there, but they are few and far between.
