Boston to Montana in 8 days.

Hey, does anyone have any advice on how to get from Boston to Glacier National Park in Montana? I'm working there this summer, and my dad and I are taking a week to get out there. We've talked about stopping in Minneapolis, Chicago, and a few other places... but is there anywhere off the beaten path that we should check out? Is there a certain route that's more scenic than the rest? I'm open to all suggestions, any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first big road trip, I'd like to make it one to remember.

Here is a link to scores of such places -- organized by Interstate highway. You might really enjoy some of these historic battlefield sites in Nebraska (if you go south). If you go through Minnesota -- the South Dakota badlands are on your way. Here are some ideas. Here are some side trips near Chicago. And you might find all of these articles of interest, since they could all be on your way.
