I have to say, Bob, reading the story is great, but hearing in person is much better!

Thanks for sharing this story. It gives me a little more confidance about traveling south of the border. I have found this to be a good page for info on Mexican road trippin'.
Glad to find this board!

Great posts!! Sounds like y'all had a grand time.
Obviamente señor! Although, I'd exchange the colas for sangria and the steaks for quesadillas and a couple of cigarillos. Thanks for telling our road trip story, you do it so well. Next time, instead of flying, I want to drive the whole way from Quebec to Phoenix and then to Mexico.Originally Posted by Arizona Bob
Go for it! There's nothing like a little excitement and cultural shock to make a trip memorable. I never understood why so few Americans wander down there, there is so much to see and it's definitely not as scary as the border towns or anything you've heard on the news about Mexico. News are all about bad stuff but you need to remember that these are the exceptions. Heck, if I'd watch the U.S. news everyday and believe that the bad guys I see there are representative of the average American, I would never even have ventured in the US and met wonderful folks such as Arizona Bob, AZ Brad, AZBuck, Mark (Editor) & his wife Megan. However, that doesn't mean you don't have to be careful and do crazy things like going to the beach at night and get stuck in the sand:o)lolOriginally Posted by ljschnel

Any updates on the next installment?! I enjoyed reading about your trip and hope you do manage to make it down again soon!
Craig, I'm going back to the Southwest in about 3 weeks, but I only have two weeks for the whole trip and I'm going to be driving all the way (yay!). So that means I have to spend at least 3-4 days just to get there and another 3-4 to get back to Quebec. I'm going to be stopping for a few days in Phoenix to see Bob and possibly Brad. If Bob has some time off, we may cross the border again and have dinner in Magdalena. Last time we missed Padre Kino's Mausoleum so we're anxious to get back and see it. I'd also like to go to San Diego. It's going to be a busy trip!Any updates on the next installment?! I enjoyed reading about your trip and hope you do manage to make it down again soon!
Next time I go to Mexico, I'd like to have at least 3 weeks off and drive all the way from Quebec. If you remember, last time I flew to Phoenix. It's not that I don't like flying, it's just that I prefer driving. Plus, it gives you more time to really put you in the mood and anticipate what's ahead. I just don't fell as excited when I fly.:o)
Cheers!

You're traveling again! I thought you were in school? How do you swing all of this? I'm green. And I can't wait to hear about it when you get back!
Well, I live for road trips!:o) I made at least one roadtrip a week since I moved to Quebec City. I've been to the Charlevoix, Lac St-Jean and Saguenay regions this far, all located north of Quebec City and visited a couple of National and Provincial parks.Originally Posted by Judy
I'm still in school, but we have 2 weeks off -- the only vacation we get during the whole lenght of the course -- and, ahem, I have to practice driving for long hours...;o)
Sorry I couldn't make it to the PNW this time, but it's the first item on my to-do list!:o)) Any vacation for you this summer? What's your first item on your list?Originally Posted by Judy
