Excellent article. During the 8 day 20 minute tour of the 50 states we acomplished in 2003, we used a number of these suggestions. My son insisted on bringing a frisbee, baseball gloves and a ball along for quick excersize when we did stop. Of course we brought a bed along with us in the conversion van we used. Had 2 Mapping software programs along with state maps. Subway was a popular stop for main meals.

Subway is often our choice on the road too, (when we are not eating out of the cooler). Hey, great to hear from you. Do you expect to republish your site (that detailed your route) one day? It was a shame when it left the web.
