I thought--mostly for my own interest perhaps--that I would start this thread capturing and displaying the progress of digging out the debris field piled against the Sierra Madre Canyon Dam. I will post a photo on the last day of each month (or as near to that as I can--given travel commitments and etc.)
(February 14th)

Lots of progress so far today

Quite an amazing sum of dirt and rock has been removed thus far.

Hole is getting deeper

Water is still flowing down the channel, and most of the tractors are out of sight today.
The thing to notice from last month (May 30th) is that sides are cleaner, they have removed alot of rock on both sides. It looks to me that the drop over the last month is about five feet or so.
Well-- on to July 30th in a a month!

**** Presumably, this is will be near the eventual depth once again:
This was taken on January 29, 2025 and before the rains came it was about 50 feet deeper!
