Nice place for a day trip near Spartanburg SC

After attending an event near Spartanburg SC next week, I have one or two days free before having to return the rental RV.

Looking for scenic place to stay with RV May 18 and 19. Would like Waterfront site or scenic area. Rental kayaks nearby a big plus.

Nearby means within 2 hour drive.

We will also have a car, so could leave RV at campground and drive nearby.

I’m aware of Kroft State Park. Is that my best bet?

As it happens.. South Carolina has a number of state parks that offer kayaking and/or canoeing. Sesquicentennial, Table Rock, and Oconee State Parks as well as the Little River Blueway Adventure Area are all within 2 hours of Spartansburg and offer a range of conditions.

Funny, I was just finishing up the mapping of I-85. Here's what I've got (Croft included):

Sadlers Creek State Recreation Area
Croft State Park, Spartanburg

Kings Mountain State Park, Blacksburg which is very near to Kings Mountain National Military Park.
