Tim,
Nice to see you on here today!
It will be almost 90 degrees today here in Las Vegas!

It turned out the combination of rain and snowmelt caused Yosemite Valley to close to park visitors for a while through the weekend but has since re-opened.

Yosemite Valley anticipates opening Sunday, April 8 at noon pending assessments
Yosemite National Park experienced significant impacts from a strong storm that came in from the Pacific. Impacts included 2 to 4 feet of water on roads within Yosemite Valley, impacts to the electrical system, and impacts to water systems. As water levels recede, the park will assess conditions throughout this evening and into tomorrow morning. If conditions permit, all roads leading into Yosemite Valley and all roads in Yosemite Valley will open tomorrow,Sunday April 8, at noon.
For tonight, access to Yosemite Valley remains closed along the Big Oak Flat Road (Highway 120) at the Foresta Road Junction, along with the Wawona Road (Highway 41) at Chinquapin, and along Highway 140 at the Park boundary in El Portal.
Visitor services and campgrounds remain open in Wawona, Hodgdon Meadow, Crane Flat, and El Portal. The Big Trees Lodge, the El Portal Market, and the El Portal gas station remain open. Roads and park facilities may close at any time for visitor and employee safety.
We are really hoping it opens in time for our trip over from New Zealand 🇳🇿
I’m going to guess it will open 8.30 am on Thursday 10th May 2018
Hello Gina and welcome to the RTA forums !
We will keep our fingers crossed that it is open in time for your trip. Good luck.

Hi, We're coming from Kentucky! May 8th at 9:00 AM
Fingers crossed that it's open by the 10th or 11th. Any advice on hiking north dome from tioga pass trailhead would be appreciated :)
May 5th at noon. Hopefully, because otherwise i have to enter all the way from the west... having high hopes so my family can see the tioga pass entry.
Southwestdave: i dont understand the "poll" remark you made above. Is my prediction entered correctly?
Hi Martin.
There is a Poll at the top of the thread with a range of dates the pass may open. Just click the date range that includes your predicted date and 'vote'.

They started to mobilize the plow's on April 5th and since then there has been no updates so I was surprised to read that the plows are now near to the May Lake junction. I would estimate that's about 2.5 to 3 miles from Tenaya lake, that's some progress ! They are said to be plowing through 2 to 3 feet of snow and there will be lots of clearing to do once they have completed the full length of the road followed by widening and road repairs. How long this take will depend on what they find and whether or not the weather help's out.
Dave.
I am going to predict May 15th at 2pm.
