Best Weather and Road Condition Resources?

Hello All -

I've been a lurker here many times in the past and have read some great advice; now I could really use your help with my own planning.

My husband and I (along with our dog and two cats) will soon be moving back to Chicago from Southern California. We took the drive out here four years ago along the Southern Route and lucked out on weather in early November.

I'm not betting on luck this time when we leave in early February and I'm trying to be as prepared and flexible as possible. We will be in a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and are leaving the moving of our stuff to the professionals.

So my question... any suggestions on the best sites/tools to use to keep track of weather and road conditions along the way?
