Phoenix to Los Angeles - 8 days with - realistic?

Hi! I am trying to figure out if the following route seems realistic:

Sadona / Flagstaff / Grand Canyon / Hoover Dam / Death Valley / Los Angeleas.

Duration: 8 full days.

I can't figure out if it is overly ambitious if you want to see some places or if it is doable without
being exhausted afterwards. Any suggestions? Ever so thankful! H.

You are starting from Phoenix? If so, this is a very reasonable schedule. How would you break it up? I'd say allow a full day at Grand Canyon, a half day at Hoover Dam, and a full day for Death Valley (depending on exactly when this trip is - "Fall and Winter" is a spread of time).

That's pretty relaxed compared to a lot of road trips. If your 8 days is to include time spent in LA then I would figure out how much time you want to spend there and work backwards.

Your trip sounds quite doable in 8 days, but of course that all depends on how much time you want to spend in each location.

I'd allow at least a full day, or an overnight with 2 partial days to see the Grand Canyon. There are so many overlooks and places to explore on the South Rim.

If you're driving from Phoenix to I-40 (Flagstaff) and you like scenic roads, I'd suggest taking the Oak Creek Canyon drive.. You would take exit 298 off I-17 and get on 179 North. That will take you into Sedona and on up the canyon. At Sedona your route would turn into AZ 89A to continue up Oak Creek Canyon. Then you merge with I-17 just south of Flagstaff.
