  1. Default Best route from chicago to sacramento in mid november

We've moving from Chicago to Sacramento area in mid-November in time for Thanksgiving. What's the best route for us to take? We are driving a 2 door Acura with maybe 2 luggages, 2 drivers alternating, no other passengers. We were thinking of driving it in 4 days. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

I-80 connects Chicago to Sacramento, so that's the pretty obvious route choice. There really aren't many other options if you are just looking to get there quickly. It's a 2000 mile trip, so 4 days is about right - putting you on the road for around 9 hours each day, assuming things go well.

Of course, by mid-november you will have to keep an eye on the forecasts, and it's possible a winter storm could slow you down, so having an extra day available just in case would be a good thing.
