    Default Holy thread revival !

Wow, it's good to see this back and up and running.

Is this an annual childrens charity balloon release kinda deal ? Hmm, not even sure if they are balloons. Been digging around but can't find anything to help locate it, we might need a another clue, connected to that building maybe.

    California Science Center??

Not that I've ever been, but I kind of remember seeing photos of it that looked like that. I might be wrong though. (Wherever I travel, if I have the time, I always try to visit a science museum/center - usually very cool places.)

Default Yep -- you nailed this one!

    Excellent work Subman!

Yes, it is the atrium at the California Science Center in LA. It connects the IMAX theater with the main museum.

And those cylinder objects "look" like balloons -- but they are fixed in place as art.

I was there a couple of weeks ago to see the Pompeii exhibit.

Yes!! It's nice to see that some parts of my ever-vanishing memory capacity still remain in place.

Now, as for the prize... Please note that I don't take cheques. (Only joking : )

Would you recommend a visit to this place, on our trip next year? And do you know of any other cool/interesting science museums/centers/parks out in the West (of St. Louis - before that, I doubt we'll have the time)? In the general direction of St. Louis - Denver - Las Vegas - LA - SF?

    Thanks.

    Default Museums I like

The Pompii exhibit is there now -- not sure if it will still be there next year -- here is the link you can see.

But the space shuttle exhibit is very, very cool. And the rest of the museum is free to visit and has some pretty amazing stuff. So... yes, I would recommend it.

One of my favorite museums is the Clark County Museum in Henderson, Nevada. And, of course, Hoover Dam. Here is a link about a recent post I made about visiting those places.

Cove Fort is an odd sort of "history" -- worth stopping just to "witness" a little hard to imagine that this is a state museum....

I'll add a few more in a bit.

By the way, I've created a new thread continuing this theme of "Where in North America is this?"
