Default An on-going and developing roadtripping video list

We've started creating road trip-related videos and so we think it might be useful to maintain a list here so you can check them out.

Feel free to add links to other videos in the posts below that embrace the roadtripping experience. The moderators of this Forum will update this page with those road trip videos that are of especially good merit.

    "On with the show...."

February 22, 2010: The Amboy Shoe Tree
February 21, 2010: Southwest Dave's Excellent Colorado Adventure (Fall, 2009)
    June 11, 2019: Peter Thody's American South Adventure --
Across the Appalachians and on to New Jersey

Please, submit your video links below!

Hi, is this thread still alive? I've got a list of some great US road trip videos that I've found on YouTube (not my own creations) - would it be appropriate for me to post them here?

Default This is the one exception to the rule about offsite links

    Sure that would be fine.

Thanks Mark. Here goes with the first one then:

Phil, Emma and Ben - California Road Trip 2013

A British family's first visit to the West, having previously been to the Florida theme parks several times. Although their route is far from unusual (Los Angeles, Pacific Coast Highway, San Francisco, Yosemite, Death Valley, Las Vegas, helicopter trip to Grand Canyon West, Los Angeles) the production values are extremely high and the enthusiasm and enjoyment they derived from the holiday shows throughout the trip. At the time of writing this post some of the later episodes have not yet been put online.

BTW my only connection with the creators is to have watched their videos, and that will also be the case with any more videos that I post links to in this thread.

    And this fromTravelingRobert.

Various road trips including Miami to New York City (car), Los Angeles to San Francisco (car), Toronto-Niagara-Ottawa-Montreal-Quebec (car) and Miami to Sandusky Ohio (RV). As well as providing excellent narration and captioning, the creator also plays all the music.

    California Roadtrip 2012

Recorded by a German couple. There's no commentary, but there are good maps and captions - and they have a rather unusual method of depicting themselves on screen.

    Part 1
Fresno, Yosemite Valley, Death Valley, Owens Valley, Bodie State Park, Mono Lake, Tioga Pass

    Part 2
San Francisco, Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Cruz

    Part 3
Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Universal Studios

    Part 4
Carlsbad (California), San Diego, Sea World, USS Midway, Tijuana (Mexico)

(Note that taking their rental car into Mexico was almost certainly contrary to the rental agreement)

SeverineChannel - Road Trip USA 2010 : Grand OUEST

A French couple who flew into Dallas, Texas and visited Waco, Austin, San Antonio, Roswell, Santa Fe, Sedona, Flagstaff, Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Mammoth Lakes, Yosemite National Park and Los Angeles. Excellent photography, both technically and artistically, especially in the early episodes. Depending on your interests you might want to skip through some of the later shopping and dining sections. In French, but the maps make it obvious where they went.

Rasmus Helms - Road trip in USA

A massive road trip by a young Danish couple in a campervan who visited New York City, Niagara Falls, Chicago, Minneapolis, Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore National Monument, Devils Tower NM, Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton NP, Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Arches NP, Mesa Verde NP, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon NP, Las Vegas, Death Valley NP, Sequoia NP, Yosemite NP, Crater Lake NP, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, the Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Joshua Tree NP, Los Angeles and Channel Islands NP. There's a map of the awesome route they took at the end of the video.

    Default nice additions

    John,

I appreciate that you are finding these videos. Nice additions.

We have some possible exposure since the video makers are not using common-use licensed music. This might be a problem for us. I'll think on this some more.

I'm no lawyer but as I understand it copyright would only be a problem if your site hosted those videos.
