  1. Default Family summer road-trip - LA to Graceland

Okay, so we now live in Los Angeles but have relocated from Australia.
This Summer we have another family flying over to take a road trip with us (in RV's) from LA to ultimately
    end up at Graceland.

We have somewhere between 2 and 3 weeks and it will be 4 adults and 3 kids (4 & 7).

We are wanting to take a slow, scenic route, where we can stop at camping grounds next to rivers, lakes,
other tourist destinations and we have absolutely no idea where to begin.

Does anyone have any information about great, tucked away places that we can stay. We obviously don't need to stay
in towns as we are travelling in RV's. We want to make some of our stops a few days or even half a week and we were at some
point thinking about San Fran, Grand Canyon etc but not sure what the possibility is.

Any feedback or information will be greatly appreciated.

Here's to safe, well planned road trips.

Default One That Comes to Mind

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

At this point it seems as though you're looking for a rough outline of a trip rather than a detailed itinerary. One such idea would be to first head up to Las Vegas and then head across southern Utah, Colorado, Kansas and Missouri to the Memphis area. If you consider using highways such as I-15 to Las Vegas (not really much choice) and then US-89 in southern Utah, US-160 into Kansas, US-400 there, and US-60 through Missouri, and US-63 to cut through Arkansas to Memphis, you will have put together a great scenic route that could include visits to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings, Wolf Creek Pass, Dodge City, the Wichita airplane museums, and the Ozarks. And yes, a few weeks would allow you enough time to take it at a relatively easy pace and spend some time it the intermediate destinations.

That is awesome! Thank you. I had no idea where to start as I don't know the lay of the land and this is a fabulous help. The information is much appreciated.
