    That's very good news.
So what do you guys recommend how about las cruces>Tuscon or Phoenix>palm springs>los angeles>death valley>sequoia>cambria>monterey?
What is the time frame for this section of the trip? This route would have you zig-zagging over covered territory. When you're in Palm Springs you much closer to Death Valley than you'll be when departing from Los Angeles. And where exactly are you going to that you've called "Sequoia"? It's pretty much close to a full day of driving (in winter) to drive from DV to anything near Sequoia NP. So, if you really went to all of these places from Tuscon, you'd need most of four days of driving.

    Is that the plan?

Maybe we can skip DV and Seq NP and just do this:

    Las Cruces>Tuscon or Phoenix>Palm Springs>Los Angeles (2 nights)>STOP>cambria>monterey

Would you recommend where we can stop after LA or we could do 2 nights in palm springs?
we are trying to stay in warmer climate as much as possible :)

Being OP was concerned about avoiding cold weather wouldn't he be better staying east of the Allegany Mtns. Go through Richmond, Greenboro, Charlotte, Atlanta, Birmingham, Jackson.

I don't remember if Sam's accepts pets -- but I really like the pools at Sam's Hot Springs Resort in Desert Hot Springs (less expensive and friendlier than Palm Springs spas).
[edit] I just looked it up -- and no pets are allowed in the motel rooms or the rental mobilehomes..

No place west of Louisiana is really going to be very warm over the next couple of weeks. Rain and snow in the higher elevations will be the rule and not the exception as you move west and north from Phoenix.

Maybe so... but the OP has already reached Los Cruces, New Mexico, so your advice no longer applies -- unless they go back that way. But thanks for contributing and welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum!
