Driving from Miami, FL to LA next week, have cargo and passenger space!

This Sunday we will be leaving from Miami, FL to drive to Los Angeles over 4 days. We have a cargo trailer and have space to haul cargo or a person for a portion of the trip. We will be taking HWY 10 going through Louisiana, Texas and Arizona. Message for any questions!

Trying to cover the nearly 2800 miles from Miami to Los Angeles in four days means that you will have to average 700 miles a day. Professional long-haul truckers are legally forbidden from driving more than 600 because trying to do more day after day is simply unsafe. I would strongly urge you to add at least an extra day to your drive not only for your own safety but for everyone else's.

OUCH -- 700 miles every day for 4 days would be a marathon, and not much fun at all. If you are towing, you will have to be a bit slower so you are looking at 15-16 hours on the road. Commercial drivers are limited to 11 hours on the road. My husband and I found that the 700 mile days we've tried over the years were just too long, and we don't mind long days on the road. Add another day for your own safety.

Five days would mean about 500 miles a day. Your overnights would be in the areas of Pensacola, FL; Houston TX; Fort Stockton TX; Benson AZ.
