Default Where did that go !

It was listed in that link this morning as opened June 18. It is also listed as open on Caltrans, but as with every other contest it needs to be confirmed by the Yosemite site.

This link has it listed on the official opening and closing dates page. [Well at least at the time of posting.]

Edit How wierd ! It's gone blank again ? Was listed moments ago.

This now says open. PLEASE !!

Default Webmasters are messing with us!

Yeah, I concur, the Yosemite sites now confirm that the 18th is the official opening, But we still need an official opening time....

From the good people at Mono lake, it would seem that it opened at 8:45am.

Default I'd accept that as the time

On the ground observations are best, but that's a close second!

Thanks to all who selected excellent dates, dates leading up to June 18th.

I found the Tioga Pass Prognosticator months ago while searching for information to share with my son’s girlfriend, a native of upstate New York. She planned to drive across the country and through Yosemite In early May. Kept checking websites for my Memorial Day trip (Glacier Point Road and trails), a mid June trip for my sister’s family and a July backpack/ Tuolumne Meadows camping for my sons.

I'm a So CA native with a minivan -- a swim mom not a soccer mom. I don’t go to Yosemite or the Sierras every year but have experienced late, wet years including a “washed out” Yosemite campground reservation for my honeymoon in May 1978. Without personal contacts, connections or friends in Yosemite and Sierras, I relied on publicly available information. Memorial Day visit didn’t provide any advantage and information was shared.

Now predicting the closure of Tioga Pass will be more challenging but I’ll give it a try : )

    Default Can you help ?

No listing of the exact time the road opened in Yosemite as yet on the official NP site, so I think we may as well go with the 8:45am from the Locals of the Mono lake committee.

    Congratulations once again to CAnative.

What I came across when looking is this appeal for a missing person.

For anyone looking in on this thread, can you help ?
Were you in Yosemite NP over the weekend from Fri 17th ? Search and rescue mission is going on in Yosemite right now for a missing person and they would like to hear from any visitors over the weekend hiking various trails [Upper Yosemite falls and trails between Yosemite valley and Tioga road] to help narrow their search field.

    Dave.

    (that's a bummer, Hope he's ok-- mark)

  9. Default Class A Westbound over Tioga Pass.

Mark, I' was doing a web search and came across your message regarding an Airstream Class A motorhome and Tioga Pass. My wife and I are traveling to Mammoth Lakes from the Central Coast of California on Saturday. I have a 2001 39' Airstream Class A DP towing a 2002 Jeep Wrangler. I'm considering heading back home at the end of our stay via Rte. 120 westbound. What are your recommendations? BTW, this is a great thread. Will enter the prognosticator fray come Fall.

Here are the vehicle weight, height, and length restrictions for all roads in Yosemite. You may want to unhook the toad in Lee Vining and have your wife drive it till you reach the park exit.
