  1. Default Washington State to Arizona

Any advice for our grand canyon get away? We would like to stop in gilbert, sedona, the grand canyon, the corkscrew/antelope canyons, and wouldn't mind checking out tucson as well. It's kind of a multi-task trip...searching out cities we are wanting to possibly move to and checking out the beauty of the canyon's. Would love to hear your advice! Thanks guys! ~ Victoria

    Default advice

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

Certainly there is plenty of information that could be shared, but we are going to have to learn a lot more about you before we can give you much in the way of useful "advice."

How long do you have for this trip? Are you planning to do any sightseeing between WA and AZ? Is this a round trip, and do you have any ideas about which routes you'll be using? And of course, what kind of advice are you looking for? What things do you have questions about?

Thank you for the clairification request. Learning :)
Yes, this is a round trip. We are planning for at least a week. I am on here to find out about any secret or fun ways to get to az or just the best route for sightseeing. Looking specifically for route tips, good places to stay and sight seeing locations along the way. This is going to be all done by car...staying over night 12 & 12 until we hit AZ. Any must see's? Any suggestions for good routes for sightseeing? I'm sorry for my ignorance.
~ Victoria please don't hesistate to ask further questions.

So are you talking a week for a round trip? What do you mean "staying over night 12 & 12 until we hit AZ."

Assuming you are starting in the Seattle area (?), I'd probably do 2 different routes each way. One way, I'd head down to California and over, and other up through Utah and Idaho. There are a ton of things you could do both directions, although if you only have a week for the trip total, you're not going to have much extra time.

Without extra stops, You need to plan for at least 2 overnight stops each direction, which would mean you'll be a little rushed just looking around Northern Arizona. Adding in Tucson could be very difficult to do if you want to have much any time for enjoying the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and other areas.

12 in 12 is what we plan on for the drive to AZ...so you suggest going down to california then over and then back over thru utah and idaho? How much time would you suggest that we take for this trip? Tucson isn't must but Gilbert, Sedona and the Canyons are a must...do you have any suggestions on the route best taken to hit up these three places? Any must stops along the way in either direction?

I still have no idea what you are talking about by saying "12 in 12"

With your limited time, it would basically be I-5 down to CA-58 to I-40, and then head back by getting on I-15 in Utah and then up I-84. This route potentially goes past about a dozen national parks, but with just a week available, I don't think you have really time to make stops at any of them.
