Thanks.
Can you give me any tips? I think I take the 405 out of LAX and then i-10 until it ends in santa monica, then follow the signes that say highway 1 up the coast.
thanks!

That's one of several ways, it will work fine. You can take the 90 off the 405 to Lincoln Blvd, or you can take Sepulveda to Lincoln right from LAX.
So this is what it looks like to me (and keep in mind we want to drive the coast as much as possible), Highway 1 from Santna Monica to Oxnard, where it hooks up with the 101. Take this to San Luis Obispo, where it slpits again, and take Highway 1 to our first night destination, Cambria. The next day stay on Highway 1 until about Pacifica, then jog over the San Fran Intl Airport to drop off the car.
Sound about right?
Keep an eye on time as you get to and through Monterey - and break off the route as necessary to get to SFO on time. There are quite a few ways to get across the coastal range to 280 and/or 101.
I would think the Shuttle to and from the airport to our Fisherman's Wharf hotel would run pretty much all night. But I have a call into my travel agent. Thanks for everything!
Yeah, the shuttle runs until 10 pm, so we should be fine.
Thanks for your help, guys, to this point.
My wife and I are VERY excited for our trip.
If I didn't say, it is 6 days in LA/LB, 2 days coast, and 6 days in SF. Time to leave the MN winter for a few weeks.
Is there any other advice you guys can give me? Like where I get off the PCH to head over to SFO. Any tips? Diners, drive-ins, or dives we should hit up? Scenic spots? Etc.
Thanks!
Andy
There are several options to get from CA-1 to SFO, depending on how much time you have left. At Castroville, you can take CA-156 to US-101. At Santa Cruz, you can take CA-17 to CA-85 to I-280 or US-101. At Half Moon Bay, you can take CA-92 to I-280 or US-101. At Pacifica, you can take Sharp Park Road to I-280. There are various combinations of US-101, CA-85, and I-280 to get around San Jose.
Am I going to get lost trying to drive this trip?
