Houston,TX to Miami, Fl

Would any one like to suggest an exciting route for a 3 day road trip from Houston, TX to Miami, FL?

I am looking to drive along on an exciting route other than the regular one. Any pointers for certain places to visit along the route are welcome.

We plan to Drive one way and fly back in return.

Sorry I am not familiar with this route but it doesn't look as though you will be able to stray too far from the "regular route". At just under 1200 miles you have 2 very full days of driving but to find attractions along the way you can use the search function and scroll down this page for "similar threads" and the all new Map centre in the tool bar above is great for finding things of interest along the way.

Dave is right in that you don't have a lot of time for wandering far off the straight and narrow, or spending a lot of miles on 'side' roads, which along the Gulf will be going through beach town, commercial and fishing ports, and other slow traffic sites. But there are a few places worth seeing, and you do have a few hours to use seeing stuff. So I'd suggest that you look at the Creole nature Trail in southwest Louisiana for taste of Cajun bayou, the Gulf Coast National Seashore for some excellent beaches and barrier islands, and a short detour to Okefenokee Swamp in southeastern Georgia if it looks like you can still afford the time for the excursion when you get there.
