  1. Default Chicago to Montgomery, AL

Going to see relatives for Thanksgiving and thought we could do something along the way. We will be taking 65 for most of the trip. We have 2 children 2 1/2 and 4 1/2. Last year we went to the Lost River Cave and Squire Boone Caverns. Any ideas are welcome.

    Default tough one

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

How long are you planning to spend on the road? Chicago to Montgomery is a 750 mile trip so that's a real tough one to do in a single day - especially when traveling with kids. You're looking at a good 14 hours before you make any extra stops.

A couple of my favorites along the way would be Mammoth Cave and Louisville has several nice museums including the Louisville Science Center and the Louisville Slugger Factory/Museum (although your kids are probably a little young for that one). Of course, Nashville also has plenty of things to do, and there are always nice parks near the Interstate.
