"Where in North America is this?" Section XII

Maybe Philadelphia, but it really reminds me of a Frank Lloyd Wright design.

Nope. Wrong area of the country, and not a FLW design.

Not sure who the architect was, but the intent was to mimic a Greek Island (Mykonos) look.

You use an unusual conveyance to reach this place.

In May of this year spent a few days in Calistoga, Napa Valley, and the mention of a Greek styled building set me thinking of a brochure I read when thinking of places to visit. And guess what, I didn’t go there to the Sterling Vineyard, Calistoga. You take an aerial tramway to reach the buildings.

Now looked it up and find that and English man founded the company and the bells are from a church in London. Looks an ace visit.

My excuse is that I was more interested in visiting the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum.

Not one of my favorites, but interesting and fun for visitors. There's a fee to ride the tram up, but I think it applies to purchases and/or tastings.

Another (newer) architectural extravaganza is Castello Di Amorosa (sp?), set on a hillside overlooking Sterling; part of the V. Sattui group founded by Dario (ex. Daryl) Sattui, another Cal Old Blue.

Also at that end of the valley and on my list of faves: Chateau Montalena, Frank Family (in the old Larkmead Lane/Hans Kornell facility), and Rombauer. The former two are in/have old buildings, the latter is more modern. All have great wines.

My guess is that's the old Dewey one lane bridge across the Colorado just upstream from Moab on UT128. Burned a few years back, after the new bridge was built.

You can see some of the new bridge to the left of the shot.

I went across the old bridge back in the 80s I think.

Yep.
Wikipedia says 2008 for the burning, accidentally started by a 7 year old.
Built in 1916, at the time it was the second longest suspension bridge west of the Mississippi.
