Please Help - 1 week in Florida and 1 in California!

Hello everyone!
We are an Norwegian family who want to experience everything we can whilst on vacation. We have a convertible car on hire and a planned route with hotels booked en-route.

Our Rte:
Florida:
24-27th of July: Orlando
28th-29th of July: Fort Lauder-dale
29th-31th of July: Key West.
31th of july - 1st of August: (Kissimmee)
California:
1-7th of June: San Fransisco and surrounding areas (Monterrey?).

Is there anyone who has traveled to these places and/or have some good tips on what to do/see in these locations? Where should we shop, dine, recreate, sightsee and more? We have mixed interests so any suggestion will be appreciated ;)

The two areas you'll be visiting are chock full of interesting and scenic wonders, certainly more than we can possibly list here. Just a few of the more popular include DisneyWorld, Universal Studios, and the other theme parks of the Orlando area; the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral; Daytona Beach Speedway; Everglades National Park; Biscayne National Park. You may, however want to rethink trying to drive all the way to Key West. The Oversea Highway (US-1) is very slow going since it is the only road connecting the keys and every car entering, leaving or traversing the keys must use it.

In the San Francisco area, certainly a drive down to Monterey and south along the Big Sur Coast is in order, as is a tour of the Napa Valley wine country. In town, the Exploratorium, the cable cars, Fisherman's Wharf and Alcatraz Island are popular destinations. If there are interests within your group which are not met by these sites, let us know and will try to suggest something more to your liking.
