Hi guys, I'm new to the forum but I think this is the best place to get some accurate info.
I'm flying from Toronto to Las Vegas on Thursday, February 11 with my dad and brother. From Vegas, we'll be renting a car. Our eventual destination is Whittier, California.
Along the way we'd like to stop at Death Valley, and spend a night in Sequoia National Park.
On the way back to Vegas, I think it would be cool to stop at Mojave to check out the lava tube caves.
I fly out of Vegas to go home on Tuesday, February 16.

Is there anything I should know about spending time at either National Park in February? I've been to California a few times before but never in the Winter.
Are there any other places you think we should stop at along the way? Must sees? Places that won't be there for much longer? Special events?

Here's a map of the trip, at least how it looks in my head right now:

Thanks in advance!
