    Default Cats Eyes Removed

Yes, AZ Buck sent a photo he captured in the UK with the cheery words "Cat's Eyes Removed" -- so I guess someone might call those dots "road turtles" -- The trademarked name here in the states "Bott's Dots" named after the guy you invented them here.
The article I read was saying in some places at Big Sur if you drive North/South you would be really close to the edge of the road and passenger's may feel reassurred if the driver kept nearer the centre of the road?
I would call that silly propaganda --- the safest place to drive is the center of the driving lane. Period. There are some drop-offs seen from this road, and one does have to drive carefully, but it is not really that dangerous a road.
we have decided to travel from Las Vegas, then stay somewhere in the Los Angeles area. Then travel South/North and stop at Pismo Beach,we decided not to stay in SF but get to Bodega Bay
Bodega Bay is a pretty place -- but I am curious how and why you chose that? How much time are you allowing to drive from Bodega Bay to Las Vegas to fly home?

  2. Default Botts Dots

Here in California they're called "Bott's Dots" -- non reflective raised markers used to let the driver know when he's going out of the lane. They're named after Dr. Elbert Dysart Botts, a California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) engineer credited with overseeing the research that led to the development of the markers and the epoxy used to attach them to the road. About every 4th to 6th dot is a reflective marker, also epoxied to the roadbet, which I think you're referring to as "cats eyes".
