Road trip from milwaukee, wi to Seattle, wa

We are a family of five planning to road trip from Milwaukee Wisconsin to Seattle Washington in late June/early July. We love to explore the national parks and are looking for recommendations of where to go in the Pacific Northwest. Our three children are middle/high school age. We plan to camp some of the time and we love hiking and mountain biking! Ideas we have entertained include crater lake, Mount Rainier, Olympic national Park, Ferry to British Columbia and North cascades national park/Leavenworth. We know we can’t do this all so we are trying to come up with a fun plan. Would love recommendations from others with similar interests who have traveled to this area. We will be arriving by dinner time Thursday, June 25 and will need to leave by the Fourth of July. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to RTA! It would help us to help you better if we knew how long your entire trip will be. I see the arrival and departure time and I am confused as to whether you are referring to Seattle or....?... about those.

As Donna mentioned, how much time do you have for the trip in total and will it be a round trip or one way ? On the way out you could consider Badlands NP, Mt Rushmore and other attractions around the Black hills, even Yellowstone and/or Glacier NP could be options with enough time. Between Olympic NP and Crater Lake other things you could enjoy are Mt St Helens, the Historic Columbia river gorge or you might enjoy some of the Washington and Oregon coast. Once you have mapped out a rough itinerary and have a timeframe we can offer more meaningful advice.
