Vancouver to LA spring break

Hello, just wanted a bit of advice on this trip my buddy and i are planning for spring break. Driving seemed like it would be more fun than flying and as well as seeing the west coast we can also visit people in LA. Trouble is that we only have a week to do the round trip in.. do you think its possible? I'm guessing 2-3 days driving either way?

I'm a 1st time road tripper!

According to Mapquest, you need more or less 20 hours to go from from Vancouver to LA. So the roundtrip seems doable in one week but you won't have lots of time off the road. If you're comfortable with the idea of spending a lot of time in the car, it'll be fine.

I strongly suggest the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to LA, it is a very slow and winding road but the scenery is totally awesome. Don't miss Hearst Castle in San Simeon. In San Francisco, visit North Beach, Twin Peaks, the Fisherman's Wharf, SoMa, the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz, ... In L.A., check out the Walk of Fame on Hollywood blvd, shop on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, go people-watching in Venice and West Hollywood, ... You have thousands of possibilities for interesting stops along the way.

I'm far from being an expert in that area. Many of our regular posters live on the west coast, I'm sure some of them will hop in to share their comments and suggestions.
