where to stop off on way from denver to la

Hi,

Planning a trip from Denver to LA in October. I want to split the trip up. Most logical place I see to split it up is at the junction on I-70 W before you turn onto the I-15 S. Any one got good tips on how I can find hotels around that area. Also, what's the driving like that time of year? It'll be middle of October.

The largest community right there is Richfield. Most of the chains are there. Quality Inn is OK. On your way west, be sure to schedule a stop at Ray's Tavern in Green River for some great road food.

Also, what's the driving like that time of year? It'll be middle of October.

Could be just about perfect. Actually, my choice for a place to stay would be at Cedar City instead of Richfield for the most choices. But it would be a shame to drive through the San Rafael Swell in the dark, so I would recommend staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Green River and then hitting the road at oh-dark-hundred and press on to LA the next day.
