Toronto -> Las Vegas

Hi everyone,

I'm 24 and orginally for Toronto. I'll be relocating fully to Las Vegas this summer and thought what better to kick it off than a good ole road trip! This is my first major road trip ever.

Requesting some travel advice from you experts out there, so I'm looking for some help in two scenarios :

(1) Fastest, safest direct route
(2) Scenic route, /w 2-3 *must see* stopovers

Please include your routes and experiences, and also how many hours driving you think is reasonable(will be travelling with another friend, who doesn't mind driving long hours).

Sounds like an exciting way to come to Las Vegas. It is unusual to get a green card for a move to Las Vegas -- you must have a great job lined up in Sin City!

Well, that is relatively easy -- Ontario Route 401 to Interstate 94 to Interstate 80 to Interstate 15 to Las Vegas. This route would be about 2300 miles and if you drove 10 hours per day and stopped a reasonable number of times for fuel, food and rest you could make it in about four days.

Scenic route, /w 2-3 *must see* stopovers

I would still stick to the Interstate highways, but drop down to St. Louis, Missouri (from Chicago) and check out the Arch and then drive westward on I-70 over the Colorado Rockies to I-15. If you want to add a couple of days travel time there is ample to see and do in Colorado, Utah and Arizona on the way.

Once you arrive in Las Vegas, here are some of the cool things we like about living here.
