Salmon Idaho - places to stay

Hi,

In August I will be spending a night with my family in Salmon Idaho en route from Glacier to Ketchum. Does anybody have any recommendations of places to stay or places to avoid in this town ?

I have been to Salmon a couple of times, but I don't remember staying over night. But I do know a number of locals. One of them is Steven Shepard who is probably on a river trip right now, but I will see if I can't reach him. Speaking of Steven, if your family has any interest in taking a river trip --- I would consider Steven's firm "SRO" to be one of the finest in America.

Many thanks for trying to get some info for me. Unfortunately, as is normal for our annual holiday (vacation) we will not have time to experience everything our route has to offer. We will arrive at Salmon late in the day and leave early the next one.

How lucky you are to live in that part of the world. I have to take my road trips in 2 or 3 week lumps once per year and there always is a balance to make between seeing everything in a place and seeing every place along a route.
