    Default August in Death Valley

Hello, I am planning a trip in August from San Francisco to Las Vegas and want to drive through Death Valley. However, my friend who i will be travelling with is reluctant as she thinks we will both die in the temperatures! We are from the UK so we are not used to heat. I know it is very hot but will we be safe with lots of water and a full tank of petrol/gas?
Any advice would be welcome. Thanks

It turns out that August is one of the "peak" periods for visitation in Death Valley. It is warm during that month, and one does have to excercise a bit of caution, but if you DRINK (not just carry) plenty of water, you will be fine. Actually being in such extreme heat is rather interesting and well worth your time.

    Default you won't die

GO!!! Don't let a little heat bother you. It'll be a great experience.

Like others have said, just be sure to keep drinking water - before you get to the point that you feel like you are thirsty.
