I'm heading East around June 6 for ten days on the lonliest road in the USA. What are some highlights, unusual stops, can't miss, and great eats along thighway 50?
Thanks,
Steveaux

Well, the first thing to remember, is that US-Hwy 50 received that nickname for the section that runs through the west and in particular, Nevada. From Kansas east, there are towns and cities fairly often. Some random notes: Get a photo at "Midway, USA" at Kinsley, Kansas -- a spot where it is exactly 1561 miles to San Francisco and 1561 miles to New York City. When you get near St. Louis, take the time and go up in the arch. It is truly amazing and if you like margaritas, head over to St. Charles and sample one of Tuck's 2nd best margaritas in the world.I'm heading East around June 6 for ten days on the lonliest road in the USA. MY first thought was where are the NUMBER ONE margaritas. Now I know -- and not far away either. Yuma is a big place though, so it may take me a week or two of "sampling" to find them. If I disappear, you'll know where to look.
This board awaits a field report on this matter of much seriousness...Originally Posted by Moderator Bob
I hope to take the western part of 50 on the way back and then head down the coast but it depends on time. I'm already looking forward to the margarita's.
16 days until departure..Boy Howdy!!!
