Weekend trip from Was DC

I'm in Washington DC. I'm leaving on Friday evening and should be back before Monday 9 am. Any suggestions as where to drive and what to see? West Va? KY? TN? NC? What can you tell me about Asheville, N.C.? Is it worth going to see?

One possibility - Check out the grist mill at Babcock State Park. As to Asheville - Expensive, but worth seeing...

The mountains in WV and the rolling hills in Kentucky are beautiful. You're also only a couple of hours from the Blue Ridge Parkway ( http://www.nps.gov/blri/ ), which would make for a great weekend trip.
