Default Delaware Estes Park and SW CO

My husband and I are planning a road trip to CO via I-70 in Sept. 2005. I've been to CO 30 years ago as a young "hippie chick" and have been to Estes, RMNP and Denver.
My husband wants to see CO with me. It's been so long - can we stay in Estes Park in September and still drive Trail Ridge Road to Grand Lake and back to Denver that time of year?
Also - we have 2 weeks. Could we fit in the drive out stay in Estes, see RMNP, maybe see Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde and drive back via Chicago to spend the night and still get back to DE in 2 weeks?
    Thanks!

  2. Default Probably OK

I don't know the particular road you ask about, but I'd be surprised if there were any road closures that early in the season in Colorado -- barring any freak early storms, of course. They DO happen sometimes, but your odds are excellent.

If you spend 2 days at Estes, 1 day at each of Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde, 1 at Chicago, plus driving times in between, you have JUST enough time (14 days) to get this done. Bob
