NC to Los Angeles!

I am planning on leaving NC on the 27th of December and would like to make it to LA by the 30th. Is this possible? I want to take 40 the whole way, is this the best idea?

I-40 is the most direct route, but if you are going to the Southern California area, you could also use I-85 to I-20 and I-10 just as easily. My opinion is I-40 is a bit prettier. You may encounter winter driving conditions on either route, so keep abreast of the weather reports as you go -- right now things are a little dicey over much of this route. If the roads are clear, you should be able to make this drive in 4 days if you don't fool around anywhere, but that may not be possible right now. Bob
