  1. Default first major roadtrip - need some tips

    Hi,
My friends and I are planning a road trip for the end of Aug. We plan on spending about 10 days on the road. We are leaving from Milwaukee, WI, heading down to Red Bud, IL (southern IL) and then jetting over to California up to Seattle and back to Milwaukee. I know it's quite a haul and we'll be spending quite a bit of time on the road. But all of us are quite used to riding for extended periods of time in small spaces.

We are looking for the cheapest possible trip. So far at all of our designated stops we have places to stay with family and friends. We also plan to drive in shifts and sleep (somewhat) in the car. What we are looking for are some neat roadside attractions. I'm imagining things like the World's largest ball of twine...things along that nature.
Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!

The best place I know of to find out these types of places (like largest ball of twine) is at www.roadsideamerica.com You might also want to get their book.
