Default Cleveland to Portland, OR suggestions

May 21st through 29th. We love to see new things, baseball games, etc... I've already been through Iowa, Neb, Wyoming, UTah route. Thinking of staying north of that.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

How about Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and Washington via I-94 and I-90.

    Default the northern route

Are you going to do this one-way, or will this be a round trip in 8 days? Staying north of I-80 corridor leaves lots of room for choices. I'd drive north to Ludington, MI and take the ferry across Lake Michigan to Manitowoc, WI, then go west from there. Depending on which road you take, you could see the Badlands/Black Hills area and Yellowstone/Grand Tetons, or even farther north there's Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. Since this is the bicentennial summer of the Lewis & Clark expedition (they started out from St Louis in 1804), you might find some L&C commemorations or festivals along the way as well. Baseball, you may find a major league game in Minneapolis or Milwaukie perhaps -- or who knows -- maybe a minor league game along the way. I prefer minor league ball anyway -- it's less production and more game (IMHO).
