Planning A Summer RoadTrip

Im a college student taking a roadtrip with a friend this summer. We are not sure where to go maybe south or west. We are from VA. If you have any ideas please let me know.

You have to ask yourselves these questions (among many others):

How long are we willing to sit in the car?
What do we want to see?
Do we want to go where there's a lot of people, nightlife, etc? Or do we want to go to a secluded place?
Do we like/mind heat? Do we want to go fishing? Do we want to camp, motel/hotel? What is our budget?

And, most important ;-) -->what do we like to eat?
