    Default Traveling with a laptop

I am planning an 8-12 month roadtrip - combo of car camping and the real thing.

I want to bring my laptop along and was wondering if anyone had any clever solutions for protecting them from the heat of a black car parked in a sunny spot... I was thinking maybe I could keep it in a styrofoam cooler?

    Default Shouldn't be necessary

If your laptop is in an insulated case and kept low (like on the floor of the car) away from direct sun, it should not be a problem. My laptop has survived absolutely dreadful conditions on the road. Putting it in a cooler might actually make things worse because of the potential of moisture contamination.

There are message boards laptop users, linked from http://www.roadtripamerica.com/dashboarding/vehicles.htm#laptop that might be helpful to you.

Insulated like a normal laptop bag? Or something special?
