San Diego to Oregon in winter 02'

does anyone know how tall the siskyou pass is? and even if that is the highest pass I will encounter on my trip? What are some conditions I can expect to encounter also? I have a 2 wheel drive S.U.V. and will carry chains. Is that enough to make the journey saftly?

You should be ok but check the forcast before you go. I don't think you want to go through there if it is snowing heavily. The pass can be quite tricky because if I remember correctly it isn't all that gradual.
