Me and my buddy are 21 years old and taking our first road trip this summer up the east coast. Because we are young we are on a bit of a budget. When I was in Europe, I often stayed in Hostiles which is almost like a dorm where you rented a bed for the night. Is there anything like that in America. If so, how do I find out where they are located. Also, what would you recomend on other places to stay while on a budget. Thank everyone for their time and help.

Have you considered camping? Saved my friends and I a fortune back in Summer '98.

Is there a website or something that I can go to to find where all the camp sites are across the US?

    Default Hostels

I haven't seen many hostile hostels but I have a suggestion for finding ones more benign. Log onto www.google.com and search for "city name hostel" including the quotes and substitute the city, town, or area you are looking in for the "city name" part of the search. If you don't find anything with that search then try "city name lodging" without using the quotes. Good luck.
