i'm planning a trip from las vegas to los angeles; renting a car and driving parts of Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, etc. -- has anyone done this? hostels in the area? safe for a woman to do alone? thanks

Driving time from Las Vegas to LA is about 4.5 hours. If you add on side trips to Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, etc. it will take 3-4 additional days. But those places are not to be missed!
