I am going to Waco in a few weeks and was wondering if there was anything to see/do on the way there.

yeah, actually there is...the Dr Pepper Museum is good if yer a fan like me, boring as hell if yer not...the Texas Ranger Hall Of Fame is fascinating and you really have to check out "Ranch Apocalypse"-the remaining Branch Davidians run a "Tourist Center" on the site...just look up directions on Google.com
