Road trip plans - can it work?

My good friend, my boyfriend, and I are planning on travelling around the country in a motor home for 5-7 months. I will also be bringing along my bird, dog, and Python. We have plans to work as we go and find jobs as we go. Do we have a pretty good chance at finding jobs or are we being a little too unrealistic. We might team up with an organization, nationwide organization, and then do work for each of their different chapters in each different states. ANy suggestions?
