Roadside Attractions from Kansas City to Denver
My friend and I are planning a roadside attractions road trip from Kansas City, Missouri to Denver Colorado. Neither one of us has ever been and are really looking forward to doing it. What I mean by "roadside attractions road trip" is in between Kansas City and Denver, we plan to make a trip to all the cheezy tourist attractions (i.e. the world's largest ball of twine, etc.) If anyone knows a good way to plan this or any kind of maps, books or whatever that would make this an easy trip, or if anyone has made a trip like this in this area before, please email me and let me know what you did or whatever information you'd like to give. Thank you very much!!!!!

I'm doing roughly the same thing, but I'm starting out in NC and headed to Denver. I'm all about stopping at all the cheesy places that I can, so if anyone knows of cool places along the way, I'd love some advice! Thanks. :)

Denver to KC
It's not so cheesy but I have enjoyed a couple of visits to the Eisenhower Museum and Library in Abilene, Kansas. It's just off I-70 so it's an easy stop. It's been many years since I've been there but if you have any interest in history, it's worth 2-3 hours. Have a great trip.

RoadSide America
www.roadsideamerica.com is always a good place to check before commencing a search of tacky and quirky places.

If you haven't gone yet you should see the giant marbles in Minneapolis KS and DO NOT MISS the Garden of Eden in Lucas, KS. The Garden of Eden is well worth the detour off I-70. Mr. Dinsmore is still there!!!

Do you have photos?
Bettie,
Glad to see that you are wandering around the site! Do you have photos of those places? Sounds fun!

KC to Denver
Think about driving US 36. It usaed to be THE road to Denver. And when in Denver don't miss Buffalo Bill's Grave and Museum atop Lookout Mountain. Take the Eastern route up past the Coor's Beer Refinery They also used to have a tour).

St. Joe
It's a not on the direct path, but a hour trip up I-29 is well worth it for a stop at the Glore Psycatric Museaum. It's free, its twisted, and it's a blast!
